Preparing Jasmine Tea

There are some tips to brew the tea for the best taste. First, one should use filtered water while making tea. Bring the water to a boil and let it cool a little. The desired temperature is 90 °C or 190 °F when the water is not boiling but simmering. It takes around three minutes to get this temperature. Next, add a teaspoon of loose-leaf tea per cup of water. However, the amount of tea can change depending on its shape. If the jasmine is in pearls form, it is enough to use 3-4 pearls per cup. Meanwhile, if you are going to steep jasmine flowering tea for jasmine milk tea, it is enough to use only one flower for a large mug or the whole pot.

1 teaspoon loose-leaf jasmine tea

¾ cup of boiling water

¼ cup of milk or creamer

1 tablespoon of sugar


Step 1- prepare tea by adding loose-leaf jasmine tea into the boiling water. Let it steep for 3 to 7 minutes. Use cheesecloth or mesh strainer to take the leaves out. 

Step 2- mix creamer, tea, and sugar for a delicious jasmine milk tea. 

As it is visible, this recipe is quite straightforward. However, one should consider several tips. For instance, it is enough for such a cup of tea to use one teaspoon of loose-leaf jasmine. Yet, when using flowering jasmine, only one flower is enough. In the case of jasmine pearls, 3-4 per cup would be adequate. Second, you can also make this tea in a big pot for several cups. It is recommended to increase the ingredient amounts proportionately for the best taste. If you do not want to use any sweetening agent in your milk tea, you can skip this step. Lastly, any milk will work for the recipe, whether almond, oatmeal, or coconut milk.

Such a mixture can be made by mixing two tablespoons of hot water with the same amount of honey. Stir it till mixed well, and that is it!
